Sales is a form of self-expression.
Every sales interaction you have with a buyer is an opportunity to communicate something important about yourself.
Your values. Your character. Your mindset. Your motivations..
It’s how you tell your story. Not just the story of what you’re selling.
It’s the story of you. And why the buyer should buy from you.
You. Not your company.
Customers buy from you.
Just think how fortunate you are to have this opportunity each and every day to express your creativity!
It’s a big part of what makes selling so fun. And fulfilling.
Unless you’re a sales clone.
🤖 Robotically engaging in scripted conversations.
Trying to sell by being someone else.
Instead of learning and working hard to become the best version of you.
Your buyers immediately recognize which type of seller they are dealing with.
The engaging storyteller. Or the drone.
Which one do you want to be? The choice is yours.
In case you haven’t noticed…
I believe the path to sales success (and career fulfillment) involves becoming the best version of you.
Yes, I have a lot of strong opinions about how you should sell.
However, they don’t include you becoming a cookie cutter copy of some idealized mythical sellers.
When you become a member of The Sales House community and engage with one of my sales courses, you’ll learn new skills, strategies and behaviors that have been effectively utilized by 1000’s of sellers all around the world.
But, here’s the key. I don’t believe that there is only one way to sell.
Every seller has integrated these skills, strategies and behaviors and integrated into their own unique sales style.
That’s how it should be.
You can’t express yourself if you’re busy trying to be someone else.
